Col. Patrick M. Shaw
Col Patrick M. Shaw is the Chief of the Transformation Division of the Operational Plans and Joint Force Development Directorate (J-7) on the Joint Staff. The Division supports and facilitates the transformation efforts of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff by acting as the primary agent for developing and monitoring the implementation plans for concept development, experimentation, and transformation policy.

He earned his commission as a distinguished graduate of Officer Training School in 1982 after graduating from the University of Washington with a degree in Business Administration. He served as an F-111 instructor weapon systems officer and standardization and evaluation flight examiner. Col Shaw completed two tours of aircraft flight test to include both operational and developmental testing as well as an assignment on the Air Staff.
He is a graduate of the School of Advanced Airpower Studies and a member of the Acquisition Corps. He was operations officer and later commander of the 32nd Air Operations Squadron at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, which played a pivotal role in planning and executing the NATO air campaign during Operation Allied Force. He commanded the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing at Ali Al Salem Airbase, Kuwait during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
